Yvad & The Legal Roots Bring the Reggae Legend’s Timeless Hits to Mizner Park as Boca Raton’s Free Summer Concert Series Continues
BOCA RATON, FL — Don’t worry about a thing this Friday night—just bring a chair, gather some friends and enjoy the music of one of the world’s most beloved artists. The City of Boca Raton’s free Summer in the City concert series continues Friday, July 17, with Yvad & The Legal Roots: A Tribute to Bob Marley, bringing an evening of reggae classics and feel-good vibes to Mizner Park Amphitheater. Doors open at 7 p.m., with the concert beginning at 8 p.m.
Known throughout South Florida for faithfully recreating the sound, spirit and energy of Bob Marley, Yvad & The Legal Roots will perform many of the reggae icon’s most beloved hits in a family-friendly outdoor concert under the stars.
The Bob Marley tribute is one of several free events still to come as this year’s Summer in the City series continues in the heart of Downtown Boca. Upcoming events include a patriotic outdoor movie celebration honoring America 250, a tribute to the Woodstock era, and the return of Boca Raton’s popular Battle of the Bands.
Live Music, Community Events & Fan-Favorite Traditions Return—Battle of the Bands Now Accepting Entries Through June 20
BOCA RATON, FL – This summer, the City of Boca Raton is building on the energy that already defines Downtown Boca with the return of “Summer in the City,” a dynamic, multi-event series celebrating live music, culture, and community connection.
“Each summer, we look for ways to create moments people remember—whether it’s discovering a new favorite band or enjoying a night out with family and friends,” said Andy Thomson, Mayor of the City of Boca Raton. “This series brings that spirit to life in a way that feels both timeless and uniquely Boca.”
Anchored at the Mizner Park Amphitheater, 590 Plaza Real, the program expands on a beloved tradition—offering a mix of performances, special events, and community experiences throughout the summer months.

At the heart of the series are four signature tribute concerts celebrating legendary artists and eras—each one adding a new track to Boca Raton’s summer soundtrack:

The series culminates with the 6th Annual Battle of the Bands & Young Entrepreneurs Market on Friday, August 7 at 7 p.m., where emerging local talent and young business owners take center stage in a high-energy, crowd-favorite competition. Bands interested in competing, and young entrepreneurs interested in showcasing their business, are invited to submit entries through June 20 for a chance to be a part of this highly anticipated event.
Guests are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets, explore nearby dining and shops, and enjoy evenings under the stars in the heart of Downtown Boca.

All “Summer in the City” events are free and open to the public, making it one of Boca Raton’s most accessible and anticipated annual traditions. Convenient parking is available at nearby City facilities and metered spaces throughout downtown. The BocaConnect shuttle is also available via the Circuit app.
