BOCA RATON TURNS UP THE VOLUME WITH “SUMMER IN THE CITY,” SETTING THE SOUNDTRACK FOR THE MONTHS AHEAD

Live Music, Community Events & Fan-Favorite Traditions Return—Battle of the Bands Now Accepting Entries Through June 20

BOCA RATON, FL – This summer, the City of Boca Raton is building on the energy that already defines Downtown Boca with the return of “Summer in the City,” a dynamic, multi-event series celebrating live music, culture, and community connection.

“Each summer, we look for ways to create moments people remember—whether it’s discovering a new favorite band or enjoying a night out with family and friends,” said Andy Thomson, Mayor of the City of Boca Raton. “This series brings that spirit to life in a way that feels both timeless and uniquely Boca.”

Anchored at the Mizner Park Amphitheater, 590 Plaza Real, the program expands on a beloved tradition—offering a mix of performances, special events, and community experiences throughout the summer months.

A SUMMER SET TO MUSIC

At the heart of the series are four signature tribute concerts celebrating legendary artists and eras—each one adding a new track to Boca Raton’s summer soundtrack:

Friday, June 12  – Billy Joel tribute by Turnstiles
Doors open at 7:00pm, Concerts begins at 8:00pm

Sunday, June 21 – FAU Summer Concert Band
Doors open at 4:00pm, Concert begins at 5:00pm

Friday, June 26  – Eagles tribute by The Long Run
Doors open at 7:00pm, Concerts begins at 8:00pm

Friday, July 17  – Bob Marley tribute by Yvad & The Legal Roots
Doors open at 7:00pm, Concerts begins at 8:00pm

Friday, July 24  – Hamilton: Movie of the Stage Performance (We’re celebrating America’s 250th Anniversary!)
Doors open at 7:00pm, Movie begins at 8:00pm

Friday, July 31  – Peace of Woodstock Band
Doors open at 7:00pm, Concerts begins at 8:00pm

Friday, August 7  –  6th Annual Battle of the Bands & Young Entrepreneurs Market
Doors open at 6:00pm, Show at 7:00pm

All tribute concerts and the Battle of the Bands are FREE and open to the public. Guests are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets, with limited seating available on a first come, first-served basis.

The series culminates with the 6th Annual Battle of the Bands & Young Entrepreneurs Market on Friday, August 7 at 7 p.m., where emerging local talent and young business owners take center stage in a high-energy, crowd-favorite competition. Bands interested in competing, and young entrepreneurs interested in showcasing their business, are invited to submit entries through June 20 for a chance to be a part of this highly anticipated event.

Guests are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets, explore nearby dining and shops, and enjoy evenings under the stars in the heart of Downtown Boca.

FREE, FUN & OPEN TO ALL
All “Summer in the City” events are free and open to the public, making it one of Boca Raton’s most accessible and anticipated annual traditions. Convenient parking is available at nearby City facilities and metered spaces throughout downtown. The BocaConnect shuttle is also available via the Circuit app.
