Boca History: March Comes Alive at The Schmidt Boca Raton History Museum

Free Family Day, Literary Town Hall Talk, Women’s Art Week Concert, and Centennial Exhibit Highlight the Month

March at The Schmidt Boca Raton History Museum invites the community to explore Boca Raton’s past through music, storytelling, art, and shared experiences, with a lineup of free family programming, an engaging author talk, a special live concert, and a landmark temporary exhibition.

As part of the Museum’s popular First Saturday tradition, admission is free all day, offering families the opportunity to explore exhibits together while enjoying a creative and music-filled afternoon.

In celebration of Women’s Art Week and as part of First Female PB, the Museum will host An Evening of Return, a live acoustic concert by Emily Blaylock, Lindsey Mills, and Veronica Rose, on Thursday, March 12 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The intimate performance offers a reflective evening of music and storytelling, adding a contemporary artistic dimension to the Museum’s March programming and highlighting the continued influence of women in the arts.

On Tuesday, March 17, at 6:30 p.m., the Museum continues its celebrated Town Hall Talk series. Author and former Palm Beach Post reporter Eliot Kleinberg will present a talk on his latest novel, Hypocrite’s Row, which brings the intrigue of Prohibition-era Palm Beach County to life through fiction grounded in history. Tickets are $10 per person and free for Boca Raton Historical Society members. Seating is limited, and advance registration is required.

Throughout March, visitors can also experience the Museum’s temporary exhibition, The Boca Raton: 100 Years, on view through May 2, 2026. The exhibit commemorates the centennial of the opening of the Cloister Inn in February 1926 and traces the evolution of one of Boca Raton’s most iconic destinations. Through rare photographs and artifacts, the exhibition explores the hotel’s owners, décor, social life, and the lifestyles of its guests across the decades.

From hands-on family programming to thoughtful conversations, live performance, and historic reflection, March at The Schmidt Boca Raton History Museum offers meaningful ways to connect with the stories that shaped Boca Raton.
