Share This:

The City of Boca Raton has announced plans for a city-wide scavenger hunt geared toward students from the ages of five – 12, “STEAM Through September.

STEAM Through September will challenge students in the areas of (S)cience, (T)echnology, (E)ngineering, (A)rts and (M)ath, while exploring some of the City of Boca Raton’s amazing exhibits, programs and places. Children will be encouraged to pick up a passport at the kick-off party, or at any of the participating locations starting August 30. They will then be challenged to complete one activity in each of the five categories of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math, whereby they will receive one stamp for each. Once all stamps are collected, explorers can bring their passport to any participating location by the end of the day on Friday, October 11, to claim a prize and enter to win a grand prize in a drawing.

While there are fees and registrations required for some programs, there is no cost required to participate or qualify to enter the grand prize drawing.

This year, the City of Boca Raton has partnered with local businesses representing each element of STEAM, with Boca Pediatric Group as the science partner, iPic Theaters for technology, Grieco Mazda of Delray Beach for engineering, Boca Museum of Art for arts, and Team Terry Story at Keller Williams for mathematics.

Participating locations include the Children’s Science Explorium, 300 S. Military Trail; Gumbo Limbo Nature Center, 1801 N. Ocean Blvd.; the Downtown Library, 400 N.W. 2nd Avenue; and Spanish River Library, 1501 N.W. Spanish River Blvd.
