Show Me the Honey – Annual Community Bakeoff at Delray Beach Public Library, Saturday, Sept 19 @ 1 PM
This year’s featured ingredient is Florida Local Honey – bringing forward a true taste of the Sunshine State.
Whether you bake cakes, cookies, pies, breads, muffins, tarts, or other delicious treats, we challenge you to let locally produced Florida honey shine as the star ingredient.
– Registration will open on Wednesday, August 5th at www.delraylibrary.org
– Registration will close on Monday, Sept 7th at 5 PM
Open to all adults 18 and over
One entry per person
Entries will be capped at 20 contestants
Cost to register as a baker is $10.00
Cakes, pies, bars and muffins and tarts are allowed to be entered
All entries must be full size. Bars, cupcakes or muffins must be at least 1 dozen.
All ingredients must be listed
Ensure that all ingredients are fresh
Local Florida Honey must be the main flavor
Recipes should be original or a creative twist on a classic dessert. No store-bought crusts, no box cakes. All recipes must be original
Our Local celebrity judges this year include: Lisbet “LB” Summa, Executive Culinary Director and Chef Partner of Big Time Restaurant Group – Winnie Diggans Edwards, Executive Director, Delray Beach Historical Society to name a few!
1st, 2nd and 3rd place ribbons will be awarded along with our popular People’s Choice Award.
Not a baker but still would like to attend and support local bakers and the library?
This event is open to the community and free to attend. No registration is necessary. Come and join in on a fun afternoon for the whole family.
There will be a baking demonstration, shaved ice from Icestacy, and other sweet treats samplings from our bakers.
