‘Music in Motion’ features five performances, November through April 2027!
Boca Raton, FL (May, 2026) — The Symphonia, South Florida’s premier chamber orchestra, will kick off its 22nd season this November with five concert programs presented through April 2027. Led by Music Director Alastair Willis, ‘Music in Motion’ features a dynamic mix of classical masterworks, contemporary compositions, and audience favorites performed alongside acclaimed guest artists.
“This season is designed to captivate audiences from the first note to the final bow,” said Annabel Russell, Executive Director of The Symphonia. “Whether experiencing The Symphonia for the first time or returning as a longtime patron, audiences will enjoy a season filled with extraordinary artistry, beloved repertoire, and exciting collaborations.”
Guest artists joining The Symphonia during the 2026–2027 season include violinist Leonid Sigal, conductor Jacomo Bairos, and Japanese shakuhachi master and composer Kojiro Umezaki.
Each live performance includes a Pre-Concert Conversation, offering ticket holders the opportunity to engage directly with conductors and featured artists while learning more about the concert’s program selections.

Conductor: Grammy-nominated conductor Alastair Willis serves as Music Director of the South Bend Symphony Orchestra and Music Director of The Symphonia. Recognized for his dynamic podium presence, Willis has appeared with major orchestras throughout the United States and abroad. His recording of Ravel’s L’enfant et les sortilèges with the Nashville Symphony and Opera was GRAMMY nominated for Best Classical Album in 2009.
Soloist: Leonid Sigal has built an international career as a recitalist, chamber musician, and orchestra leader, praised for his expressive performances and versatility across classical repertoire.

Featuring: Conductor Jacomo Bairos, the FAU Chamber Singers, and Schola Cantorum of Florida under the direction of Chorus Master Patricia Fleitas.
Conductor: Portuguese American conductor Jacomo Bairos is known for his innovative programming and genre-crossing collaborations. A graduate of The Juilliard School, Bairos is co-founder of Miami’s Nu Deco Ensemble and has conducted orchestras throughout the United States and internationally.
