Multiple Sclerosis Foundation patients to board Oceans of Hope to depart the U.S.
escorted to sea by Miami’s Impossible Dream
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – The Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, (www.msfocus.org or 888-MSFOCUS), is a national publicly-funded 501(c)3 non-profit organization headquartered in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. The mission of MSF is to provide vital programs and services for those affected by MS, and heighten public awareness and understanding for those diagnosed with the illness in order to elicit financial support for their needs. As part of their programs, patients with MS thru Multiple Sclerosis Foundation’s South Florida local programs will board Oceans of Hope, the 67-foot yacht undertaking the first circumnavigation with a working crew of people with multiple sclerosis (MS). They will be departing North America to continue its voyage around the world. Escorting Oceans of Hope out of Fort Lauderdale, will be newfound Floridian friends aboard Impossible Dream, a purpose-built 60 foot catamaran operated by Miami’s Shake A Leg Foundation which takes disabled and disadvantaged people out on the water. On Monday both yachts will host MS patients for an experience under sail thru Multiple Sclerosis Foundations local programs. Oceans of Hope will then continue her circumnavigation bound for the Panama Canal, while Impossible Dream will make the much shorter trip from Fort Lauderdale to its home base in Miami.
