 <title>The World of Giant Insects</title>
 <link>http://www.livingfla.com/todo/lf0220100311.html</link>
<description>Keeping in line with its commitment to entertain as well as educate, Miami Metrozoo presents The World of Giant Insects from January 23 - August 1, 2010. This traveling exhibit, which will be located at the zoo’s Dr. Wilde’s World, will provide eye-opening insight into the anatomy and behavior of insects we encounter regularly. These animated robotic insects, enlarged 40 to 600 times their actual size, will afford visitors a new up-close perspective on these important creatures.

The exhibit will include a praying mantis (60 times its size), stick insect (120 times its size), beetles (40 times its size), caterpillar (30 times its size), and a locust (70 times its size). Interactive displays with mosquitoes, honeybee, and dragonfly enlarged 600, 200 and 80 times their size respectively will further thrill and engage adults and children alike. In addition, laboratory, “backyard jungle” components and signage will enable everyone to learn in more detail about these fascinating creatures.

The exhibit, produced by Kokoro Dinosaurs, has traveled extensively and entertained numerous crowds at museums, zoos and aquariums throughout the United States.

The World of Giant Insects exhibit will be open every day from 10 a.m. -5 p.m. and is included with zoo admission.

 <description>42nd ANNIVERSARY OF DELRAY BEACH
ST. PATRICK&apos;S DAY PARADE
42nd Annual Delray Beach St. Patrick&apos;s Day Parade

Saturday, March 13, 2009

Parade: 2:00 - 3:30 pm
(Atlantic Avenue from Gleason Street to Swinton Ave)

Beer $3 from 11-2, $4 from 2pm until...

The 42nd annual Delray Beach St. Patricks Day parade on March 13th, 2010 will be like no other in the history of parades in South Florida.

Hundreds of Firefighters from across the country have been invited to come be a part of this grand event. The complete parade route along Atlantic Ave. will be decorated at five key points with fire department ladder trucks from multiple fire departments with their ladders extended tip to tip, hanging huge flags that the entire parade will march under. Antique fire engines as well as modern day fire engines and apparatus. Fire department honor guard teams will march carrying flags and ornate fire axes. Fire department bagpipe band members from different fire department pipe and drum bands will march and play together. Uniformed marching firefighters, Dalmation dog owners, and professional fire clowns have been invited to delight the spectators. Civilians and parade sponsors will ride their decorated floats.

The FREE after-the-parade party will be located in Old School Square with food, beverages, and live entertainment from 11:00AM to 7:30PM. So there you have it. A full day and evening of fun to be had by everyone and a chance to show our appreciation to those of all nationalities, that serve in the emergency services for our communities. See you at the parade, and Erin Go Bragh !!!

While you&apos;re here, don&apos;t forget to visit some of the other attractions in the Delray Beach area. We have a convenient list for you.

For forty-two years now Delray Beach has hosted Florida&apos;s largest St Patrick&apos;s Day charity parade! This year will honor the founding father of our parade, Maury Power. As legend would have it, forty-one years ago, and spending his first St. Patrick&apos;s Day in South Florida, Maury Power lamented the lack of any local celebration of St. Patrick&apos;s Day. With just a little encouragement from his pals and a bit of Irish whiskey, he took up the challenge to have an impromptu parade right then and there. Maury left for a few minutes, only to return with his top hat and shillelagh and began a solitary stroll up the middle of Atlantic Avenue (much to the delight of his drinking buddies and chuckling passersby). When questioned as to just what he thought he was doing, parading up the middle of the Avenue, his proud response was, &quot;I&apos;m having a Parade!&quot; Hundreds of thousands of people have attended the St. Patrick&apos;s Day Parade in Delray over the years, and it all started by one man&apos;s decision! Thanks Maury!</description>

 <link>http://www.livingfla.com/todo/lf0220100313.html</link>

<title>Singles Seminar The Ins And Outs Of Online Dating</title>
 <link>http://www.livingfla.com/todo/lf0520100314.html</link>
<description>The Ins And Outs Of Online Dating
How Many Amphibians Do You Have To Kiss Before You Meet Mr./Ms. Right?

Helpful tips for anyone who is single!
Presented by Dale Koppel, PhD author of
The Intelligent Woman&apos;s Guide To Online Dating

Just three months shy of the big Six-0, Dale Koppel, PhD, found
herself suddenly single. Her seemingly perfect marriage of 25 years
was over. Twelve days later, ignoring her girlfriends who thought she
was moving too fast, she joined an online dating service. &quot;Life&apos;s too
short,&quot; she told them. And she was right.

As she made her way through thousands of profiles and met hundreds -
yes, hundreds - of men, she learned how to make the most of online
dating, achieve her goals, and come out on top. She developed skills
and created strategies that really worked. And she had the best time!
Her book, THE INTELLIGENT WOMAN&apos;S GUIDE TO ONLINE DATING: And She
Lived Happily Ever After (www.theintelligentwomansguide.com) tells
how she did it.

Her intriguing, inspiring, and often shocking workshops offer women
AND men the opportunity to find out what it takes to get through the
online dating jungle.

Whether you&apos;re currently doing online dating, but not having the
results you want; you&apos;ve done online dating, but quit in frustration;
you&apos;ve always wanted to do online dating but didn&apos;t know where or how
to begin (or didn&apos;t think online dating worked for someone your
age!), this workshop is for you.

If the name, Dale Koppel, looks familiar, that&apos;s probably because you
read her articles and columns (including her Social Security column
that ran for 13 years) in the Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel, The Miami
Herald, and The Palm Beach Post. Or maybe you&apos;re one of the 100+ men
who dated her! She currently lives with her Mr. Right who she met on
Match.com almost three years ago.

$15 in advance or $20 Cash at the door.
Includes Seminar / Lecture 1 Drink and...

 <title>Cats Fundraising Dinner Auction Gala</title>
 <link>http://www.livingfla.com/todo/lf0220100320.html</link>
<description>Cats Exclusive Adoption Center and Clinic
would be honored by your presence at the
Fundraising Dinner Auction Gala

To benefit the New Building for Cats Exclusive
Saturday, the twentieth of March
Cocktails at 7 O’clock
Dinner at 8 O’clock

Black Tie Optional

We are holding a fund raiser and dinner auction gala March 20th.; the goal we are striving for is to purchase our own building so we can take in more cats for adoption and expand our clinic to do dogs as well, we wish to provide low cost for all. Renting our facility voids us from some grants that would help our cause.
Since 1979 our no-kill adoption branch has taken in over five and a half thousand cats and has worked to find them the best homes possible, but at the facility itself we can only care for up to sixty cats at a time. We know the need is enormous, while I type this we have received calls from several different people desperate to place 8 different cats, and the calls continue to pour in all day. We want to help more; we simply do not have the capacity.
We have performed over 9000 surgeries in our 2.5 years, that is preventing thousands upon thousands of kittens being born unwanted and homeless. The dog population could certainly use our help, too, but our facilities cannot handle the space that they require.
The event is formal, black tie optional, and will be held at the South Florida Convention Center in the Rainbow Ball Room. 6101 NW 31 Street, Margate, FL 33063. Cocktails start at 7PM, and dinner is at 8PM. Our exciting auction event will be held after dinner; there will also be a silent auction throughout the evening.
Reserved seating is required and available at $150 per person or $200 per couple.
. Please contact Niuvi Liriano at 954-975-8349 ext. 305 If you would like to help out, but cannot make it out to the dinner, please send a donation to Cats Exclusive, Inc., and note that you would like the donation to go towards the new building.
As always, your donation is tax deductible. If you have something unusual or spectacular to contribute for the auction, please contact us 954-975-8349 ext. 305 or stop by our center. If the item does not get used in this event, we will use it in future fundraisers. Cats Exclusive, Inc. 6350 West Atlantic Blvd, Margate, FL 33063

 <title>The World of Giant Insects</title>
 <link>http://www.livingfla.com/todo/lf0220100321.html</link>

 <title>The World of Giant Insects</title>
 <link>http://www.livingfla.com/todo/lf0220100322.html</link>

 <title>The World of Giant Insects</title>
 <link>http://www.livingfla.com/todo/lf0220100327.html</link>

 <title>The World of Giant Insects</title>
 <link>http://www.livingfla.com/todo/lf0220100329.html</link>

She takes patrons on a journey through the Clematis District&apos;s vibrant development and distinctive architectural styles, from the pioneering days of the early 1900s and the real estate boom of the 1920s, to the continued revitalization present today.

The tours begin and end at the Palm Beach County History Museum at 300 N. Dixie Hwy. The tours are just $5 for adults and free for kids 12 and under.

Reservations are required and can be obtained by calling the DDA at 561-833-8873.
