:: Time + Temp: Surveying the Shifting Climate of Painting in South Florida

Where: 1650 Harrison St., Hollywood, FL 33020

Time: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM

The exhibition will display the work of 40 South Florida artists who embrace and incorporate both traditional and unconventional aspects of painting into their practice. Some pieces have been expanded through a variety of techniques utilizing a broad range of materials, like media other than traditional pigment-based paint on canvas. Our tropical, lush, and organic natural environment intersected by gleaming architectonic towers of light, glass, and concrete set the stage for fertile and flowing currents of invention, which are reflected in this diverse array of work. The opening reception for the event will be held on Friday, Nov. 20 from 6 to 9 p.m.

Gallery hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from 12 to 4 p.m.

Opening Reception admission is free for Art and Culture Center members and $10 for non-members. General admission is free for members, $7 for adults, $4 for students, seniors and children ages 4-13, and free to children under 4 when accompanied by an adult. Gallery admission is free to all on the third Sunday of every month, when an exhibition is on display.

About Cupcake
At Cupcake Vineyards, our goal is to craft the richest, smoothest and most elegantly textured wines. To ensure this, we select our grapes from vineyards that are truly expressive of the varietals that we grow. Our Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot come from California's sun-drenched Central Coast, where the distinctive topography and climate moderated by the Pacific Ocean yields some of California's best world-class wines. Our Sauvignon Blanc comes from the Marlborough valley of New Zealand, where the long days and cool climate allow the grapes to mature slowly over a longer period of time.
Once harvested, the grapes are gently crushed before being cool fermented in stainless steel tanks, which helps to preserve the tropical notes of our Chardonnay, deep cherry aromas of our Merlot, fresh berry notes of our Cabernet Sauvignon, and lemon/Key lime flavors of our Sauvignon Blanc. The wine is then aged in premium American-oak barrels, adding richness and complexity to the wine.
