Where: Art and Culture Center of Hollywood, 1650 Harrison Street, Hollywood, FL 33020
Time: 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM
The Art of the Brick museum show is the first major museum exhibition in the United States to focus exclusively on the use of LEGO building blocks as an art medium. Artist Nathan Sawaya is currently touring the country with his work and has appeared on Good Morning America and The Colbert Report.

Join us as we welcome Sawaya to South Florida at our opening reception. The event is $10 for non-members and free for members of the Art and Culture Center.

"These works are very personal to me, since they reflect my growth as an artist as I strove to discover my creative identity," said Sawaya. "The museum exhibit is accessible because it engages the child in all of us while simultaneously illuminating sophisticated and complex concepts."

:: Damian Rojo: Feeling Small
Where: Art and Culture Center of Hollywood, 1650 Harrison Street, Hollywood, FL 33020
Time: 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM
This multi screen and photographic installation relates to a 2006 sound piece and video work of the same name. The audio was painstakingly assembled from hundreds of found cassettes of varying content addressing controversial societal concerns via subliminal messages, wire taps and field recordings. Accompanying videos of slowly dissolving, digitally manipulated stock photo of 'perfect' flowers with embedded images provide a hypnotic and nostalgic accomplice to the very real and ever-present threat to our first amendment right.

Gallery Hours:
Mon- Sat, 10am-5pm; Sun, noon- 4pm.
Admission is free for members,$6 for adults,$3 for students, seniors and children ages 4-13, and free to children under 4 when accompanied by an adult. Gallery admission is free to all on the third Sunday of every month. http://www.artandculturecenter.org
