22nd Annual Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival
Go Around The World In 32 Days And Never Leave The Tropics
The 22nd Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival
A Vacation Form Ordinary Film

Recently named one of the top destination film festivals in the United States by Movie Maker Magazine and the highest rated film festival in the State of Florida by the Florida Arts Council, Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival (FLIFF) attracts thousands of movie lovers each fall. Now in its 22nd year, the annual fest will reel out over 175 films from around the globe between October 15 and November 11.

There are over 60 feature films. The balance are thought provoking documentaries, clever shorts, filmmaker tribute films and on Saturday morning's...family films. Filmmaker and celebrity sightings create an aura of excitement around the month-long cinematic event. Film Premieres and exclusive screenings, as well as parties and receptions aboard yachts and at some of Fort Lauderdale's trendiest clubs and restaurants, offer opportunities to experience this tropical paradise and to meet both moviemakers and actors alike.

Over the years, FLIFF has consistently programmed some of the finest films, many of which have become major box office hits and some that have been nominated or received an Oscar® including Pedro Almodovar's Volver & Bad Education, Mrs. Henderson Presents, The Matador, Being Julia and many more.

Some of FLIFF's special guests over the years have included Matt Damon, Kevin Spacey, Sir Ben Kingsley, Ashley Judd, Elisabeth Shue, Michael Caine, Ben Affleck, Tim Roth, Maria Bello, and renowned directors including Martin Scorceses, Robert Wise, and Peter Bogdanovich. FLIFF offers a variety of Group Travel Packages which include hotel, festival discounts, car rental discounts, and transportation to Fort Lauderdale. FLIFF's host hotel and hub of activity is Gallery One. Fort Lauderdale's premiere Intracoastal 5-star, all-suite boutique hotel is conveniently located just 2 blocks from the beach. The hotel offers individual discounted room rates and 2 for 1 ticket vouchers to attend FLIFF. You may even run into a star or two and some of our filmmakers. And, for a change of pace, take the water taxi from the hotel to FLIFF's year-round art house, Cinema Paradiso, one of the festival's three theatre venues, located just around the corner from renowned Las Olas Blvd. Other theatre venues include Nova University's Miniachi Theatre in Davie and Regal Cypress Creek in Pompano Beach.

Tickets to FLIFF range from $8 to $10 for films. Tickets for major film events, like Opening Night and Closing Night Films & Parties, vary and are reasonably priced. Festival Fast Passes and year-round memberships offer discounted rates and even some free films. http://www.fliff.com

:: 7th Annual Signature Grand Ghoul
Where: Signature Grand in Davi
7th Annual Signature Grand Ghoul - The Hottest Halloween Party in Broward
The planning for our Seventh Annual Signature Grand Ghoul on Monday, October 22 at the Signature Grand in Davie, is well under way. Last year our host, former Miami Dolphin great OJ McDuffie, secured more Dolphin players & NFL Alumni than ever before. We are once again anticipating another star-studded roster of attendees at this year's event.
The annual Halloween costume gala presented by UAIC (United Automobile Insurance Company) is a fundraising party which benefits The Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County and OJ McDuffie's Catch 81 Foundation. Last year's event raised over $91,000 to help the children in our communities.
"We are excited with the announcement of UAIC as our presenting sponsor for this year's event. Beau Parrillo has always been active in helping the children of our community and we are honored that he and his company chose the Signature Grand Ghoul to support the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County and the OJ McDuffie Foundation." said Rich Ouellette, Senior Area Director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County.
Courtney Young of Big 105.9 radio will be returning as Master of Ceremonies. When it came time to present our 2006 Live Auction, the feature item was two tickets to the 2007 Super Bowl at Dolphins Stadium, a package which raised $6,500. This year's Live Auction will include a trip for two including airfare courtesy of Southwest Airlines, 4 night hotel stay & tickets to the 2008 Super Bowl held in Glendale, Arizona.
On hand at last year's event were several current and alumni Miami Dolphins including Channing Crowder, Darrian Barnes, Twan Russell, Terry Kirby, Shawn Wooden, Wes Welker, Mark Higgs, KiJana Carter and local hero, Bernie Kosar. Guests and team members had an opportunity to rub elbows and some lucky party goers even got to dance with their favorite players. The guests and players (many of whom stayed to the very end) were having such a great time that the Signature Grand extended the entertainment for an additional hour.
Prior to the party in the Grand Ballroom, a VIP reception was held for the event's benefactors. It was a great opportunity for those most responsible for making this event a success. Our sponsors were able to get photos with players, Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders, the Florida Panthers' Stanley C. Panther and Miami Heat's Burnie.
Local TV affiliates for ABC, NBC and FOX, including Fins TV and Insider Media Live as well as many other local media outlets, were on hand to cover the event. Spectacular food and beverages were provided by Sysco and Premier Beverage. Continuous entertainment was courtesy of Elegant Occasions and Southern Audio Visual and this year the mansion will lavishly decorated by Fairytale Designs.
"This was an unbelievable party. My guests and I started planning our costumes for this year's event right after last years", said O.J. "We all had such a great time and knowing that we raised so much money for the children of the community makes it even better."
The Chairpersons for this year's Signature Grand Ghoul are Lisa Catterson of Imperial Body & Design, Cary Goldberg of Stiles Corporation and Angela Garcia of EventsII Remember.
For more information on sponsorship opportunities or anything else pertaining to this year's Signature Grand Ghoul, please visit www.GrandGhoul.org. or contact Rich Ouellette at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County, 954-592-0832.

Beauty and Bravery Breast Cancer Calendar
A 1940's themed gala event is planned to raise awareness for the calendar. It will be held at the Sundy House in Delray Beach on Monday October 22nd from 7pm to ?.
Looking beautiful, energetic, and full-of-life, twelve inspirational local women grace a glamorous 1940's style pin-up calendar that will benefit Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. Each of these stunning calendar girls is a breast cancer survivor and they have been brought together by Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Andrew Rosenthal.

Each month features truly breathtaking shots of the women in vintage styles and settings evoking Hollywood's hey-day when the likes of Betty Grable and Rita Hayworth inspired legions of soldiers to valiantly fight on. "The women in these photos are inspiring a fight as well," continued Dr. Rosenthal. "They are encouraging other women who are doing battle with cancer to keep focused on the brighter days ahead."

Located in the heart of historic downtown Delray Beach, the Sundy House is a boutique inn listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The secluded retreat is nestled within an acre of stunning tropical gardens.
