Share our Strength's Taste of the Nation features over 50 of Palm Beach and Broward county's top chefs and restaurants, scores of vintners, a VIP cocktail and champagne reception, a Grand Cru "top flight" lounge and extraordinary silent and live auctions. The live auction is the centerpiece of the event and major fundraiser, featuring exciting trips, tempting lifestyle lots and magnificent wines.
Taste of the Nation Fort Lauderdale, benefits Share Our Strength, one of the nation's leading organizations working to end childhood hunger in America. It supports the most effective organizations our area which are working to feed hungry children, such as the Florence Fuller Child Development Centers, the Daily Bread Food Bank and the Sun-Sentinel Children's Fund, a fund of the McCormick Tribune Foundation.
Share Our Strength's Taste of the Nation 2007 is part of an annual nationwide effort which takes place from March through August in cities throughout the U.S. and Canada.
This year's campaign goal is expected to raise $ 250,000 locally and $4.2 Million nationwide with the participation of more than 5,000 leading chefs and restaurateurs.

WRMF-97.9 FM on-air personalities will see who can spur their listeners to give the most at a Celebrity Roll-Off at RA Sushi at Downtown at the Gardens on May 1.
Personalities from the morning "Jennifer & Danny Show" Jennifer Ross, Danny Czekalinski, Deena Lang and Billy Ryan will compete both on the radio, encouraging their audience to get involved with a worthy cause, and in person at RA, making signature sushi rolls for sale during a "roll-off."
>From 6-9 p.m., proceeds from all sales of the WRMF-RA sushi rolls will benefit "Shop With a Cop."
RA recently held its first sushi-rolling fundraiser with the pitcher Josh Johnson and first baseman Mike Jacobs of the Marlins to benefit the Cardinals/Marlins Fund. The "Meet and Eat Fish" fundraiser was hosted by WRMF's morning show host Deena Lang.
The event was such a success, WRMF signed on to do another with its own well-known talent.
Jennifer Ross, South Florida's most popular and well known radio personality began her career at WRMF, 97.9 in 1980 after graduating from Ohio State University. Danny Czekalinski, a Cleveland, Ohio native has been in broadcasting since 1985. Danny has anchored Morning Radio in Oklahoma City, Kansas City, Cleveland and now calls West Palm Beach home. Deena Lang was born and raised in South Florida and has been on the radio for seven years in Miami and Fort Lauderdale. Bill Ryan is the producer of the "Jennifer & Danny Show," which airs weekdays from 5:30-10 a.m.

About "Shop With A Cop:"
Every year, "The Jennifer and Danny Show" participates in "Shop With A Cop" through the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office to benefit underprivileged children in Palm Beach County, who otherwise might not celebrate Christmas that year.
On a special night in December, Santa Claus arrives by helicopter and greets the children at the National Guard Armory where they are treated to a pizza party. The Sheriff then presents the children with gift certificates from Wal-Mart and Publix towards the purchase of holiday gifts and food for their families. Santa also has a special surprise for each child. Santa then escorts the children and deputies to a local retail outlet by motorcade where they will "Shop with a Cop." Since 1987, deputies have raised money to help sponsor children for this event.

Event to create awareness for chronic fatigue syndrome and other neuroendocrineimmune disorders such as fibromyalgia, Gulf War syndrome and Multiple Chemical Sensitivities during May 2007 - our Awareness Month. Dr. Tara Solomon is a respected oby-gynecologist in South Florida. She has appeared in national and local television shows discussing women's health and issues. She is working on a book in order to educate women about Biodentical Hormone Replacement Therapy, perimenopause and what menopause means to our bodies.

Perimenopause and Menopause processes can start in women as early as mid thirties and as late as mid fifties. Women with neuroendocrineimmune disorders already experience major health challenges related to sleep, mood, fatigue, weight gain and overall wellness before menopause and these areas become even more difficult to balance during the process of reaching menopause.

By attending this awareness event you will learn how to deal with menopause and the pros and cons of hormone replacement therapy (HRT). Dr. Solomon will also be able to answer your questions on postmenopausal issues.

This is a meeting that all women of all ages can attend. It is not only for CFS/FM/GW/MCS and related illnesses individuals. It is a topic that all women share as they reach this stage in their lives. It is an educational meeting that you can bring a husband or signficant other, girl friends, a mother or a sister, and enjoy a speaker who is witty and will answer your questions on how to live "in the Flash Lane".

Downtown Delray Beach's Cinco De Mayo Festival
Announces First Annual Chihuahua Race
The Cinco de Mayo Festival in Downtown Delray Beach will be held at Old School Square, 51 N Swinton Ave, on May 5, 2007 from 1:00 pm to 11:00 pm. Admission is $10 for adults and children under 5 free. Highlights of this year's event include the First Annual Chihuahua Race.
The Chihuahua Race will begin at 4:00 pm in the yard of Old School Square. Space is limited to the first 75 dogs registered on a first-come, first-served basis. There will be a series of elimination races with five Chihuahuas racing at one time. The winner of each will advance to the next elimination race. Chihuahuas will race in the order of their registration.
All pre-registration applications must be received by 5:00 pm on Wednesday, April 25th. The pre-registration fee is $10. If space is still available on the day of the event, the registration fee will be increased to $15. Each dog registration provides the registrant with one free Cinco de Mayo event admission. All participants must check in at the Chihuahua Registration Tent near the entry gate to receive a contestant number and obtain an admission armband. Upon completion of the races, trophies will be awarded for first, second and third place. The fastest male and female Chihuahua will be crowned King and Queen Cinco de Mayo Chihuahua 2007.

The Hollywood Rotary Club announces the 50th anniversary of the Hollywood Rotary Club Auction held in honor of long time members, Mickey Smith and Hal Satchell. The auction, held every year in early May, is the one event the club holds to raise funds to support the community for the year. This year's milestone anniversary program will be held on May 9th - May 12th at the clubhouse, located at 2349 Taylor Street in Hollywood.

Along with regularly scheduled auction programs including the "Bull Club" where donations can bring traditional winnings of $1000 cash or the equivalent in beef with just a $10 raffle ticket, the Club is also raffling off a 1997 Harley Motorcycle with the purchase of $20 tickets where winners will be announced on May 12th at 8:00pm.

Auction items include gift certificates, trips, sporting goods, jewelry, toys, plants, appliances, bicycles, auto accessories, tools, collectables, art, building materials, and much more. "This year is a particularly special year because it's not only our 50th anniversary but we are also honoring two of the Club's most important founders who passed away earlier this year. This year is an important one and should be our best so far", says 2007 Auction Chair Rejane Wintter who says donations are already pouring in.

Tickets for the barbecue are $7 and include barbecue chicken, a drink, roll, cole slaw, and desert served between 12pm-5pm on Saturday, May 12th. Hours are Wednesday- Friday 7:00pm-11:00pm and Saturday 5:00pm until everything is sold.

The Hollywood Rotary Club, now 81 years old, is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization that promotes "Service above Self " and goodwill throughout the community. Since its inception, the club has donated almost three million dollars to youth projects in Hollywood as well as scholarships across the county. Through the help of the community and sponsors, the Annual Rotary Auction has made these donations possible. Since 1958, the Hollywood Rotary Auction has donated $3,000,000 to local charities and over $25,000 in Scholarships per year.

Japanese-born contemporary artist Mari Omori will be displaying her unique and thought-provoking work at The Morikami Museum from October 2-December 2, 2007, thanks to support from Palm Beach County Cultural Council and the Albert E. and Birdie W. Einstein Fund.
A key component of the exhibit will be the words, thoughts and emotions of multiple groups who are coming together to share tea and express their individual expressions.
Enjoy this rare opportunity to share the culture of tea with the artist Mari Omori. Attendees will have the chance to discuss the artists inspirations in an intimate setting and share their own experiences while creating their own tea themed artwork. Morikami's Tea Ceremony which only takes place on the weekends will be available for the attendees as well. Light hors d'oeuvre,Soft drinks and Taishi signature drink will be served. A day of free activities centered on better hearing and speech is being held on Saturday, May 19, at the Northwest Regional Library in Coral Springs. This event is of special interest to all including; parents and professionals who work with children with hearing loss, individuals and family members with hearing loss and anyone interested in hearing conservation (protection). We encourage anyone, regardless of age or ability, who has the desire to learn and play our type of music to join us.
The Band is made up of all acoustical instruments, with the exception of keyboard.
We utilize string and woodwind instruments of any type, accordions and keyboard.
The Band provides music books and costumes for each member and asks that prospective members try to attend at least 75% of our shows.

The City of Boca Raton, along with local veteran groups, will honor all military personnel who gave the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country at a Memorial Day Observance, Monday, May 28, beginning at 10:00 am at the city's cemetery located at 449 SW Fourth Avenue. Participating groups include American Legion Post #277 and its auxiliary unit, Boca Raton Elks Lodge #2166, Estahakee Chapter DAR, Boca Raton Community High School unit of the Navy Junior ROTC under the direction of Commander Ken Bingham, Boca Raton Community High School Band under the direction of Julia Heath, Fort Lauderdale Highlanders, Hot Shots Men's Quartet, and honor guard units representing the city's Police Services and Fire/Rescue Services. Mayor Steve Abrams and several other officials will offer "Thoughts on Memorial Day." A commemorative wreath will be placed at the memorial monument recognizing each service group represented at the ceremony, followed by "Taps", and other traditional music played by the Boca High School Band and the bagpipe band of Fort Lauderdale. Goldie's Gang is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit charity that sends needy, underprivileged, or handicapped children to "live" sporting events and funds youth leagues/clinics, that was started by "Goldie."

This Annual Golf Event begins with lunch and then a two-man scramble shotgun start, followed by a Cocktail Party, Dinner, Awards Ceremony, Raffle, and a "LIVE" Auction. *All participants will have a chance to get a hole-in-one and WIN a 2 year lease on a 2007 is 250 lexus, courtesy of jm lexus.
