The 2007 Palm Beach International Jazz festival has expanded from the 2006 preview to include 2 days of world-class jazz entertainment. The festival will feature local artists, up and coming jazz acts, a children's jazz concert and major jazz stars. The outdoor concert will surpass the expectations of the jazz aficionado and general music lover with an experience that can only be described as unlike anything ever in western Palm Beach County.
The Cultural Trust is proud to announce the expansion of our successful Palm Beach International Jazz Festival. With the 2006 premiere, featuring Arturo Sandoval as a smash success with over 3,700 patrons attending, the jazz festival is being expanded for its inaugural year.
With a total of over 20 GRAMMYs represented in this festival, we are proud to have renowned jazz legends performing at the event. "It is a true honor to have these artists in our community. I hope that everyone will come out to see this magnificent show!" said Manuel Bornia, Artistic Director and CEO of the Cultural Trust.
Headlining the event on Saturday is trumpet player Chris Botti, one of today's hottest talents on the pops and jazz instrumental scene. Thanks to his recent PBS concert "Chris Botti and Friends" with Sting, Burt Bacharach and many others, he has received critical acclaim. The evening also features renowned jazz pianist David Benoit and a performance by The Rippingtons, who celebrate their 20th anniversary this season!
Sunday's concert will be an evening to remember. Two jazz giants, Chick Corea & Gary Burton take the stage. With over 15 GRAMMY's combined, these artists are the quintessential jazz masters. Both authorities in their own fields, together they promise a concert of monumental proportions.
The festival will also introduce two new artists to the South Florida scene. Sophie Milman , performing on Sunday, is currently the number one downloaded jazz vocalist on iTunes and has a style all her own. Her self-titled debut album was a breakthrough jazz album of the year and remains in the years top 5 selling albums along side Diana Krall and Michael Buble. Also featured will be artist Lisa Yves and her renowned Jazz for Kids Series that will feature over 50 children each day at the festival. These children will be selected from a week long workshop that Lisa will conduct in Western Community Public Middle Schools.
  • Priority Seating for Patron's Circle Members with tickets purchased by August 31st
  • Special member event for Family Friends of the Trust after the Jazz for Kids Concert and a special Backstage at the Jazz Festival for Patron Circle Members
