About Festival of the Arts BOCA
March 1 - March 11, 2007
The Centre for the Arts at Mizner Park will be hosting Festival of the Arts BOCA, an unprecedented cultural arts festival for South Florida that will span eleven full days. The Festival, to be held at the Count De Hoernle Amphitheater in Boca Raton, will feature the finest in music, art, literature, film, food and wine.
Festival of the Arts BOCA is a partnership with IMG Artists, a leader in worldwide cultural arts management. IMG Artists also produces two world renowned festivals, Tuscan Sun Festival, a late-summer festival in Cortona, Italy and Festival del Sole Napa, a mid-July festival in Napa Valley, California.
MUSIC
For this, its inaugural season in Boca, Centre for the Arts and IMG Artists have aligned an impressive roster of international artists. Daily concerts will feature top names in classical, opera, jazz and Latin music. Vladimir Jurowski, one of the most accomplished and exciting young conductors in the world will lead the Russian National Orchestra.
This year's event will also feature music virtuosos such as Itzhak Perlman, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Yefim Bronfman, Nina Kotova and Hélène Grimaud, who will perform as soloists with the Russian National Orchestra, as well as Lady Jeanne and Sir James Galway, who will perform with the Boca Raton Philharmonic Symphonia. The Yellowjackets will present an evening of jazz.
The Festival will be filled with exquisite entertainment, from start to finish. The final day will open with an early evening concert featuring the Boca Raton Philharmonic Symphonia accompanied by jazz trumpeterArturo Sandoval and Tiempo Libre, one of the hottest Latin bands of today. Pre- and post- concert events will be held offering an opportunity for enthusiasts to meet and socialize with artists in attendance.
LITERATURE
Additionally, the Festival brings the opportunity to attend literature programs, lectures and receptions featuring noted playwright Edward Albee, best known for his work Who's afraid of Virginia Woolf? and bestselling novelists Anna Quindlen and David Ebershoff.
FILM
Festival of the Arts BOCA has also partnered with the Palm Beach International Film Festival to showcase award winning films featuring scores by attending artists such as Memoirs of a Geisha (score by Perlman) as well as other award winning films such as The Pianist and The Cotton Club and films that delve into the worlds of music and literature.
FOOD & WINE
Boca Bacchanal, presented by the Boca Raton Historical Society will occur in tandem with the Festival and comprise the food and wine component. Boca Bacchanal will feature Vintner Dinners in private homes, The Bacchanal & Auction at the Boca Resort & Club, and The Grand Tasting at the Amphitheater. Special programming to accompany the Festival is also planned at the Boca Raton Museum of Art.
VENUE
All events will be held at the Centre for the Arts at Mizner Park, 590 Plaza Real, Boca Raton. In the event of inclement weather, Festival events will be presented in the Festival tent, a clearspan tent equal to the area of the Amphitheater Concert Green and immediately adjacent to the Amphitheater.

Time is Right for South Florida Designers' Show house
Bernadette Upton: "Green" Design

Ft Lauderdale, FL - There's a growing interest in protecting the environment, with "green" becoming a popular term these days. And this is great news for interior designer, lecturer, and consultant Bernadette Upton, who has been a "green" designer since the early 1980s.

"Back then I called myself an 'environmental designer,' before 'green' became the popular term for environmental responsibility," said Upton, one of twenty-two professional interior designers and landscapers whose work will be showcased at the Broward Red Cross Designers' Show House in March.

A long time activist and educator, Upton was recently featured on Bob Vila's TV show, wherein she explained eco-friendly spaces. Upton also teaches parents how to provide children with a healthy and safe environment, free of toxins and harmful materials. She is offering designers a Continuing Education Unit for stopping by to see her at the Show House.

Although Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth" has increased environmental awareness to an all-time high, Upton has long been using only environmentally-friendly materials, such as furniture made from fallen trees. "With increasing environmental awareness in today's society and the availability of eco-friendly products, it truly is easy being green!"

The Show House features 22 locally and nationally-recognized interior and landscape designers transforming 22 spaces to reflect their own styles and talents. The house, a Key West style mansion situated on historic Idlewyld Drive in Fort Lauderdale, will be open to the public from March 1 through March 18, 2007. Tickets are $25; group discounts available. Friends of the Palm Beach International Film Festival will celebrate fashion at Worth Avenue's AlPark Salon on Thursday, March 1, from 6-8 p.m.. The fashionable soiree, partnered with The Palm Beacher Magazine, will showcase "Designer to the Stars" Mayda Cisneros and her new collection.

The group of "upwardly social" singles and couples will enjoy hors d'oeuvres by Trevini Ristorante of Palm Beach in the Esplanade while sipping cocktails and discussing plans for the upcoming Film Festival, happening April 19 to 26.

"The newly-formed Friends of the Festival has gotten off to a terrific season," said Randi Emerman, Executive Director of the Palm Beach International Film Festival.
"AlPark is the perfect place to shop for that special gown for our
most anticipated event - the black-tie gala on Saturday, April 21."

Ft Lauderdale, FL - There's a growing interest in protecting the environment, with "green" becoming a popular term these days. And this is great news for interior designer, lecturer, and consultant Bernadette Upton, who has been a "green" designer since the early 1980s.

"Back then I called myself an 'environmental designer,' before 'green' became the popular term for environmental responsibility," said Upton, one of twenty-two professional interior designers and landscapers whose work will be showcased at the Broward Red Cross Designers' Show House in March.

A long time activist and educator, Upton was recently featured on Bob Vila's TV show, wherein she explained eco-friendly spaces. Upton also teaches parents how to provide children with a healthy and safe environment, free of toxins and harmful materials. She is offering designers a Continuing Education Unit for stopping by to see her at the Show House.

Although Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth" has increased environmental awareness to an all-time high, Upton has long been using only environmentally-friendly materials, such as furniture made from fallen trees. "With increasing environmental awareness in today's society and the availability of eco-friendly products, it truly is easy being green!"

The Show House features 22 locally and nationally-recognized interior and landscape designers transforming 22 spaces to reflect their own styles and talents. The house, a Key West style mansion situated on historic Idlewyld Drive in Fort Lauderdale, will be open to the public from March 1 through March 18, 2007. Tickets are $25; group discounts available. The Centre for the Arts at Mizner Park will be hosting Festival of the Arts BOCA, an unprecedented cultural arts festival for South Florida that will span eleven full days. The Festival, to be held at the Count De Hoernle Amphitheater in Boca Raton, will feature the finest in music, art, literature, film, food and wine.
Festival of the Arts BOCA is a partnership with IMG Artists, a leader in worldwide cultural arts management. IMG Artists also produces two world renowned festivals, Tuscan Sun Festival, a late-summer festival in Cortona, Italy and Festival del Sole Napa, a mid-July festival in Napa Valley, California.
MUSIC
For this, its inaugural season in Boca, Centre for the Arts and IMG Artists have aligned an impressive roster of international artists. Daily concerts will feature top names in classical, opera, jazz and Latin music. Vladimir Jurowski, one of the most accomplished and exciting young conductors in the world will lead the Russian National Orchestra.
This year's event will also feature music virtuosos such as Itzhak Perlman, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Yefim Bronfman, Nina Kotova and Hélène Grimaud, who will perform as soloists with the Russian National Orchestra, as well as Lady Jeanne and Sir James Galway, who will perform with the Boca Raton Philharmonic Symphonia. The Yellowjackets will present an evening of jazz.
The Festival will be filled with exquisite entertainment, from start to finish. The final day will open with an early evening concert featuring the Boca Raton Philharmonic Symphonia accompanied by jazz trumpeterArturo Sandoval and Tiempo Libre, one of the hottest Latin bands of today. Pre- and post- concert events will be held offering an opportunity for enthusiasts to meet and socialize with artists in attendance.
LITERATURE
Additionally, the Festival brings the opportunity to attend literature programs, lectures and receptions featuring noted playwright Edward Albee, best known for his work Who's afraid of Virginia Woolf? and bestselling novelists Anna Quindlen and David Ebershoff.
FILM
Festival of the Arts BOCA has also partnered with the Palm Beach International Film Festival to showcase award winning films featuring scores by attending artists such as Memoirs of a Geisha (score by Perlman) as well as other award winning films such as The Pianist and The Cotton Club and films that delve into the worlds of music and literature.
FOOD & WINE
Boca Bacchanal, presented by the Boca Raton Historical Society will occur in tandem with the Festival and comprise the food and wine component. Boca Bacchanal will feature Vintner Dinners in private homes, The Bacchanal & Auction at the Boca Resort & Club, and The Grand Tasting at the Amphitheater. Special programming to accompany the Festival is also planned at the Boca Raton Museum of Art.

All events will be held at the Centre for the Arts at Mizner Park, 590 Plaza Real, Boca Raton. In the event of inclement weather, Festival events will be presented in the Festival tent, a clearspan tent equal to the area of the Amphitheater Concert Green and immediately adjacent to the Amphitheater.

Daily concerts will feature top names in classical, opera, jazz and Latin music. Vladimir Jurowski, one of the most accomplished and exciting young conductors in the world will lead the Russian National Orchestra.
This year's event will also feature music virtuosos such as Itzhak Perlman, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Yefim Bronfman, Nina Kotova and Hélène Grimaud, who will perform as soloists with the Russian National Orchestra, as well as Lady Jeanne and Sir James Galway, who will perform with the Boca Raton Philharmonic Symphonia. The Yellowjackets will present an evening of jazz.
The Festival will be filled with exquisite entertainment, from start to finish. The final day will open with an early evening concert featuring the Boca Raton Philharmonic Symphonia accompanied by jazz trumpeterArturo Sandoval and Tiempo Libre, one of the hottest Latin bands of today. Pre- and post- concert events will be held offering an opportunity for enthusiasts to meet and socialize with artists in attendance.
LITERATURE
Additionally, the Festival brings the opportunity to attend literature programs, lectures and receptions featuring noted playwright Edward Albee, best known for his work Who's afraid of Virginia Woolf? and bestselling novelists Anna Quindlen and David Ebershoff.
FILM
Festival of the Arts BOCA has also partnered with the Palm Beach International Film Festival to showcase award winning films featuring scores by attending artists such as Memoirs of a Geisha (score by Perlman) as well as other award winning films such as The Pianist and The Cotton Club and films that delve into the worlds of music and literature.
FOOD & WINE
Boca Bacchanal, presented by the Boca Raton Historical Society will occur in tandem with the Festival and comprise the food and wine component. Boca Bacchanal will feature Vintner Dinners in private homes, The Bacchanal & Auction at the Boca Resort & Club, and The Grand Tasting at the Amphitheater. Special programming to accompany the Festival is also planned at the Boca Raton Museum of Art.
VENUE
All events will be held at the Centre for the Arts at Mizner Park, 590 Plaza Real, Boca Raton. In the event of inclement weather, Festival events will be presented in the Festival tent, a clearspan tent equal to the area of the Amphitheater Concert Green and immediately adjacent to the Amphitheater.

Time is Right for South Florida Designers' Show house
Bernadette Upton: "Green" Design

Ft Lauderdale, FL - There's a growing interest in protecting the environment, with "green" becoming a popular term these days. And this is great news for interior designer, lecturer, and consultant Bernadette Upton, who has been a "green" designer since the early 1980s.

"Back then I called myself an 'environmental designer,' before 'green' became the popular term for environmental responsibility," said Upton, one of twenty-two professional interior designers and landscapers whose work will be showcased at the Broward Red Cross Designers' Show House in March.

A long time activist and educator, Upton was recently featured on Bob Vila's TV show, wherein she explained eco-friendly spaces. Upton also teaches parents how to provide children with a healthy and safe environment, free of toxins and harmful materials. She is offering designers a Continuing Education Unit for stopping by to see her at the Show House.

Although Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth" has increased environmental awareness to an all-time high, Upton has long been using only environmentally-friendly materials, such as furniture made from fallen trees. "With increasing environmental awareness in today's society and the availability of eco-friendly products, it truly is easy being green!"

The Show House features 22 locally and nationally-recognized interior and landscape designers transforming 22 spaces to reflect their own styles and talents. The house, a Key West style mansion situated on historic Idlewyld Drive in Fort Lauderdale, will be open to the public from March 1 through March 18, 2007. Tickets are $25; group discounts available. The Florida Panthers will host a Hockey House Call this Sunday, March 4 at Belaire Boca in Boca Raton. The event runs from 1 to 3 p.m. and includes games, prizes, live music and entertainment, and refreshments. Special guests such as Panthers broadcaster Randy Moller; the team's radio play-by-play announcer Steve Goldstein; and the Panthers Ice Dancers by Sziro Jewelry will be on hand, along with team mascot Stanley C. Panther, who will pose for photos. Panthers representatives will spin a prize wheel and give away tickets to upcoming games.

The Hockey House Call is one of a series of events at Belaire Boca designed to help participants keep their New Year's resolutions with advice and demonstrations from fitness and wellness professionals, nutritionists, weight loss specialists, cosmeticians, and home décor experts. Panthers strength and conditioning coach/trainer Andy O'Brien will offer attendees tips for getting and staying in shape. The Centre for the Arts at Mizner Park will be hosting Festival of the Arts BOCA, an unprecedented cultural arts festival for South Florida that will span eleven full days. About Festival of the Arts BOCA
March 1 - March 11, 2007
The Centre for the Arts at Mizner Park will be hosting Festival of the Arts BOCA, an unprecedented cultural arts festival for South Florida that will span eleven full days. The Festival, to be held at the Count De Hoernle Amphitheater in Boca Raton, will feature the finest in music, art, literature, film, food and wine.
Festival of the Arts BOCA is a partnership with IMG Artists, a leader in worldwide cultural arts management. IMG Artists also produces two world renowned festivals, Tuscan Sun Festival, a late-summer festival in Cortona, Italy and Festival del Sole Napa, a mid-July festival in Napa Valley, California.
MUSIC
For this, its inaugural season in Boca, Centre for the Arts and IMG Artists have aligned an impressive roster of international artists. Daily concerts will feature top names in classical, opera, jazz and Latin music. Vladimir Jurowski, one of the most accomplished and exciting young conductors in the world will lead the Russian National Orchestra.
This year's event will also feature music virtuosos such as Itzhak Perlman, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Yefim Bronfman, Nina Kotova and Hélène Grimaud, who will perform as soloists with the Russian National Orchestra, as well as Lady Jeanne and Sir James Galway, who will perform with the Boca Raton Philharmonic Symphonia. The Yellowjackets will present an evening of jazz.
The Festival will be filled with exquisite entertainment, from start to finish. The final day will open with an early evening concert featuring the Boca Raton Philharmonic Symphonia accompanied by jazz trumpeterArturo Sandoval and Tiempo Libre, one of the hottest Latin bands of today. Pre- and post- concert events will be held offering an opportunity for enthusiasts to meet and socialize with artists in attendance.
LITERATURE
Additionally, the Festival brings the opportunity to attend literature programs, lectures and receptions featuring noted playwright Edward Albee, best known for his work Who's afraid of Virginia Woolf? and bestselling novelists Anna Quindlen and David Ebershoff.
FILM
Festival of the Arts BOCA has also partnered with the Palm Beach International Film Festival to showcase award winning films featuring scores by attending artists such as Memoirs of a Geisha (score by Perlman) as well as other award winning films such as The Pianist and The Cotton Club and films that delve into the worlds of music and literature.
FOOD & WINE
Boca Bacchanal, presented by the Boca Raton Historical Society will occur in tandem with the Festival and comprise the food and wine component. Boca Bacchanal will feature Vintner Dinners in private homes, The Bacchanal & Auction at the Boca Resort & Club, and The Grand Tasting at the Amphitheater. Special programming to accompany the Festival is also planned at the Boca Raton Museum of Art.
VENUE
All events will be held at the Centre for the Arts at Mizner Park, 590 Plaza Real, Boca Raton. In the event of inclement weather, Festival events will be presented in the Festival tent, a clearspan tent equal to the area of the Amphitheater Concert Green and immediately adjacent to the Amphitheater.

Time is Right for South Florida Designers' Show house
Bernadette Upton: "Green" Design

Ft Lauderdale, FL - There's a growing interest in protecting the environment, with "green" becoming a popular term these days. And this is great news for interior designer, lecturer, and consultant Bernadette Upton, who has been a "green" designer since the early 1980s.

"Back then I called myself an 'environmental designer,' before 'green' became the popular term for environmental responsibility," said Upton, one of twenty-two professional interior designers and landscapers whose work will be showcased at the Broward Red Cross Designers' Show House in March.

A long time activist and educator, Upton was recently featured on Bob Vila's TV show, wherein she explained eco-friendly spaces. Upton also teaches parents how to provide children with a healthy and safe environment, free of toxins and harmful materials. She is offering designers a Continuing Education Unit for stopping by to see her at the Show House.

Although Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth" has increased environmental awareness to an all-time high, Upton has long been using only environmentally-friendly materials, such as furniture made from fallen trees. "With increasing environmental awareness in today's society and the availability of eco-friendly products, it truly is easy being green!"

The Show House features 22 locally and nationally-recognized interior and landscape designers transforming 22 spaces to reflect their own styles and talents. The house, a Key West style mansion situated on historic Idlewyld Drive in Fort Lauderdale, will be open to the public from March 1 through March 18, 2007. Tickets are $25; group discounts available. About Festival of the Arts BOCA
March 1 - March 11, 2007
The Centre for the Arts at Mizner Park will be hosting Festival of the Arts BOCA, an unprecedented cultural arts festival for South Florida that will span eleven full days. The Festival, to be held at the Count De Hoernle Amphitheater in Boca Raton, will feature the finest in music, art, literature, film, food and wine.
Festival of the Arts BOCA is a partnership with IMG Artists, a leader in worldwide cultural arts management. IMG Artists also produces two world renowned festivals, Tuscan Sun Festival, a late-summer festival in Cortona, Italy and Festival del Sole Napa, a mid-July festival in Napa Valley, California.
MUSIC
For this, its inaugural season in Boca, Centre for the Arts and IMG Artists have aligned an impressive roster of international artists. Daily concerts will feature top names in classical, opera, jazz and Latin music. Vladimir Jurowski, one of the most accomplished and exciting young conductors in the world will lead the Russian National Orchestra.
This year's event will also feature music virtuosos such as Itzhak Perlman, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Yefim Bronfman, Nina Kotova and Hélène Grimaud, who will perform as soloists with the Russian National Orchestra, as well as Lady Jeanne and Sir James Galway, who will perform with the Boca Raton Philharmonic Symphonia. The Yellowjackets will present an evening of jazz.
The Festival will be filled with exquisite entertainment, from start to finish. The final day will open with an early evening concert featuring the Boca Raton Philharmonic Symphonia accompanied by jazz trumpeterArturo Sandoval and Tiempo Libre, one of the hottest Latin bands of today. Pre- and post- concert events will be held offering an opportunity for enthusiasts to meet and socialize with artists in attendance.
LITERATURE
Additionally, the Festival brings the opportunity to attend literature programs, lectures and receptions featuring noted playwright Edward Albee, best known for his work Who's afraid of Virginia Woolf? and bestselling novelists Anna Quindlen and David Ebershoff.
FILM
Festival of the Arts BOCA has also partnered with the Palm Beach International Film Festival to showcase award winning films featuring scores by attending artists such as Memoirs of a Geisha (score by Perlman) as well as other award winning films such as The Pianist and The Cotton Club and films that delve into the worlds of music and literature.
FOOD & WINE
Boca Bacchanal, presented by the Boca Raton Historical Society will occur in tandem with the Festival and comprise the food and wine component. Boca Bacchanal will feature Vintner Dinners in private homes, The Bacchanal & Auction at the Boca Resort & Club, and The Grand Tasting at the Amphitheater. Special programming to accompany the Festival is also planned at the Boca Raton Museum of Art.
VENUE
All events will be held at the Centre for the Arts at Mizner Park, 590 Plaza Real, Boca Raton. In the event of inclement weather, Festival events will be presented in the Festival tent, a clearspan tent equal to the area of the Amphitheater Concert Green and immediately adjacent to the Amphitheater.

Time is Right for South Florida Designers' Show house
Bernadette Upton: "Green" Design

Ft Lauderdale, FL - There's a growing interest in protecting the environment, with "green" becoming a popular term these days. And this is great news for interior designer, lecturer, and consultant Bernadette Upton, who has been a "green" designer since the early 1980s.

"Back then I called myself an 'environmental designer,' before 'green' became the popular term for environmental responsibility," said Upton, one of twenty-two professional interior designers and landscapers whose work will be showcased at the Broward Red Cross Designers' Show House in March.

A long time activist and educator, Upton was recently featured on Bob Vila's TV show, wherein she explained eco-friendly spaces. Upton also teaches parents how to provide children with a healthy and safe environment, free of toxins and harmful materials. She is offering designers a Continuing Education Unit for stopping by to see her at the Show House.

Although Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth" has increased environmental awareness to an all-time high, Upton has long been using only environmentally-friendly materials, such as furniture made from fallen trees. "With increasing environmental awareness in today's society and the availability of eco-friendly products, it truly is easy being green!"

The Show House features 22 locally and nationally-recognized interior and landscape designers transforming 22 spaces to reflect their own styles and talents. The house, a Key West style mansion situated on historic Idlewyld Drive in Fort Lauderdale, will be open to the public from March 1 through March 18, 2007. Tickets are $25; group discounts available. As the musical architect behind Fleetwood Mac, one of the most popular bands of all time, Lindsey Buckingham has played the key role in stoking the hit-making machinery, yet he is also a seeker, a chance-taker willing to shake up the status quo for the sake of new ideas. And so an elusive quality has developed around his 30-year career to date, both as a solo artist and as a member of Fleetwood Mac. On his recently released Under The Skin, his first solo album in 14 years, Buckingham has distilled his art to its essence: voice and guitar, with minimal percussive and production elements to create a work of unprecedented maturity, both virtuosic and intimate. The Centre for the Arts at Mizner Park will be hosting Festival of the Arts BOCA, an unprecedented cultural arts festival for South Florida that will span eleven full days. The Festival, to be held at the Count De Hoernle Amphitheater in Boca Raton, will feature the finest in music, art, literature, film, food and wine.
Festival of the Arts BOCA is a partnership with IMG Artists, a leader in worldwide cultural arts management. IMG Artists also produces two world renowned festivals, Tuscan Sun Festival, a late-summer festival in Cortona, Italy and Festival del Sole Napa, a mid-July festival in Napa Valley, California.
MUSIC
For this, its inaugural season in Boca, Centre for the Arts and IMG Artists have aligned an impressive roster of international artists. Daily concerts will feature top names in classical, opera, jazz and Latin music. Vladimir Jurowski, one of the most accomplished and exciting young conductors in the world will lead the Russian National Orchestra.
This year's event will also feature music virtuosos such as Itzhak Perlman, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Yefim Bronfman, Nina Kotova and Hélène Grimaud, who will perform as soloists with the Russian National Orchestra, as well as Lady Jeanne and Sir James Galway, who will perform with the Boca Raton Philharmonic Symphonia. The Yellowjackets will present an evening of jazz.
The Festival will be filled with exquisite entertainment, from start to finish. The final day will open with an early evening concert featuring the Boca Raton Philharmonic Symphonia accompanied by jazz trumpeterArturo Sandoval and Tiempo Libre, one of the hottest Latin bands of today. Pre- and post- concert events will be held offering an opportunity for enthusiasts to meet and socialize with artists in attendance.
LITERATURE
Additionally, the Festival brings the opportunity to attend literature programs, lectures and receptions featuring noted playwright Edward Albee, best known for his work Who's afraid of Virginia Woolf? and bestselling novelists Anna Quindlen and David Ebershoff.
FILM
Festival of the Arts BOCA has also partnered with the Palm Beach International Film Festival to showcase award winning films featuring scores by attending artists such as Memoirs of a Geisha (score by Perlman) as well as other award winning films such as The Pianist and The Cotton Club and films that delve into the worlds of music and literature.
FOOD & WINE
Boca Bacchanal, presented by the Boca Raton Historical Society will occur in tandem with the Festival and comprise the food and wine component. Boca Bacchanal will feature Vintner Dinners in private homes, The Bacchanal & Auction at the Boca Resort & Club, and The Grand Tasting at the Amphitheater. Special programming to accompany the Festival is also planned at the Boca Raton Museum of Art.
VENUE
All events will be held at the Centre for the Arts at Mizner Park, 590 Plaza Real, Boca Raton. In the event of inclement weather, Festival events will be presented in the Festival tent, a clearspan tent equal to the area of the Amphitheater Concert Green and immediately adjacent to the Amphitheater.

Bernadette Upton: "Green" Design

Ft Lauderdale, FL - There's a growing interest in protecting the environment, with "green" becoming a popular term these days. And this is great news for interior designer, lecturer, and consultant Bernadette Upton, who has been a "green" designer since the early 1980s.

"Back then I called myself an 'environmental designer,' before 'green' became the popular term for environmental responsibility," said Upton, one of twenty-two professional interior designers and landscapers whose work will be showcased at the Broward Red Cross Designers' Show House in March.

A long time activist and educator, Upton was recently featured on Bob Vila's TV show, wherein she explained eco-friendly spaces. Upton also teaches parents how to provide children with a healthy and safe environment, free of toxins and harmful materials. She is offering designers a Continuing Education Unit for stopping by to see her at the Show House.

Although Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth" has increased environmental awareness to an all-time high, Upton has long been using only environmentally-friendly materials, such as furniture made from fallen trees. "With increasing environmental awareness in today's society and the availability of eco-friendly products, it truly is easy being green!"

The Show House features 22 locally and nationally-recognized interior and landscape designers transforming 22 spaces to reflect their own styles and talents. The house, a Key West style mansion situated on historic Idlewyld Drive in Fort Lauderdale, will be open to the public from March 1 through March 18, 2007. Tickets are $25; group discounts available. The Centre for the Arts at Mizner Park will be hosting Festival of the Arts BOCA, an unprecedented cultural arts festival for South Florida that will span eleven full days. The Festival, to be held at the Count De Hoernle Amphitheater in Boca Raton, will feature the finest in music, art, literature, film, food and wine.
Festival of the Arts BOCA is a partnership with IMG Artists, a leader in worldwide cultural arts management. IMG Artists also produces two world renowned festivals, Tuscan Sun Festival, a late-summer festival in Cortona, Italy and Festival del Sole Napa, a mid-July festival in Napa Valley, California.
MUSIC
For this, its inaugural season in Boca, Centre for the Arts and IMG Artists have aligned an impressive roster of international artists. Daily concerts will feature top names in classical, opera, jazz and Latin music. Vladimir Jurowski, one of the most accomplished and exciting young conductors in the world will lead the Russian National Orchestra.
This year's event will also feature music virtuosos such as Itzhak Perlman, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Yefim Bronfman, Nina Kotova and Hélène Grimaud, who will perform as soloists with the Russian National Orchestra, as well as Lady Jeanne and Sir James Galway, who will perform with the Boca Raton Philharmonic Symphonia. The Yellowjackets will present an evening of jazz.
The Festival will be filled with exquisite entertainment, from start to finish. The final day will open with an early evening concert featuring the Boca Raton Philharmonic Symphonia accompanied by jazz trumpeterArturo Sandoval and Tiempo Libre, one of the hottest Latin bands of today. Pre- and post- concert events will be held offering an opportunity for enthusiasts to meet and socialize with artists in attendance.
LITERATURE
Additionally, the Festival brings the opportunity to attend literature programs, lectures and receptions featuring noted playwright Edward Albee, best known for his work Who's afraid of Virginia Woolf? and bestselling novelists Anna Quindlen and David Ebershoff.
FILM
Festival of the Arts BOCA has also partnered with the Palm Beach International Film Festival to showcase award winning films featuring scores by attending artists such as Memoirs of a Geisha (score by Perlman) as well as other award winning films such as The Pianist and The Cotton Club and films that delve into the worlds of music and literature.
FOOD & WINE
Boca Bacchanal, presented by the Boca Raton Historical Society will occur in tandem with the Festival and comprise the food and wine component. Boca Bacchanal will feature Vintner Dinners in private homes, The Bacchanal & Auction at the Boca Resort & Club, and The Grand Tasting at the Amphitheater. Special programming to accompany the Festival is also planned at the Boca Raton Museum of Art.
VENUE
All events will be held at the Centre for the Arts at Mizner Park, 590 Plaza Real, Boca Raton. In the event of inclement weather, Festival events will be presented in the Festival tent, a clearspan tent equal to the area of the Amphitheater Concert Green and immediately adjacent to the Amphitheater.

Bernadette Upton: "Green" Design

Ft Lauderdale, FL - There's a growing interest in protecting the environment, with "green" becoming a popular term these days. And this is great news for interior designer, lecturer, and consultant Bernadette Upton, who has been a "green" designer since the early 1980s.

"Back then I called myself an 'environmental designer,' before 'green' became the popular term for environmental responsibility," said Upton, one of twenty-two professional interior designers and landscapers whose work will be showcased at the Broward Red Cross Designers' Show House in March.

A long time activist and educator, Upton was recently featured on Bob Vila's TV show, wherein she explained eco-friendly spaces. Upton also teaches parents how to provide children with a healthy and safe environment, free of toxins and harmful materials. She is offering designers a Continuing Education Unit for stopping by to see her at the Show House.

Although Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth" has increased environmental awareness to an all-time high, Upton has long been using only environmentally-friendly materials, such as furniture made from fallen trees. "With increasing environmental awareness in today's society and the availability of eco-friendly products, it truly is easy being green!"

The Show House features 22 locally and nationally-recognized interior and landscape designers transforming 22 spaces to reflect their own styles and talents. The house, a Key West style mansion situated on historic Idlewyld Drive in Fort Lauderdale, will be open to the public from March 1 through March 18, 2007. Tickets are $25; group discounts available. Fitness studio MindBody Connection will be holding a charity fundraiser for the Sydney & Alexandria Cohen Foundation, a 501 c3 not-for-profit organization currently raising funds to donate two state-of-the-art incubators to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Memorial Hospital West in Pembroke Pines. Created by Plantation parents Brian and Jennifer Cohen,
The Sydney & Alexandria Cohen Foundation was founded in honor and in celebration of their daughters who were born at 31 weeks gestation. Today, Sydney and Alexandria are healthy almost four-year-olds who do not have any long term complications from having been born so early.

Classes offered during the all-day fundraiser will include Pilates/Reformer for $20 per class; spinning, Zumba, or pole dancing for $10 per class; and Budokon for $10 per class. All classes will be geared to beginners, and all are welcomed to attend. Space in each class is limited and reservations are required in advance by calling 954-680-4390. Ft Lauderdale, FL - There's a growing interest in protecting the environment, with "green" becoming a popular term these days. And this is great news for interior designer, lecturer, and consultant Bernadette Upton, who has been a "green" designer since the early 1980s.

"Back then I called myself an 'environmental designer,' before 'green' became the popular term for environmental responsibility," said Upton, one of twenty-two professional interior designers and landscapers whose work will be showcased at the Broward Red Cross Designers' Show House in March.

A long time activist and educator, Upton was recently featured on Bob Vila's TV show, wherein she explained eco-friendly spaces. Upton also teaches parents how to provide children with a healthy and safe environment, free of toxins and harmful materials. She is offering designers a Continuing Education Unit for stopping by to see her at the Show House.

Although Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth" has increased environmental awareness to an all-time high, Upton has long been using only environmentally-friendly materials, such as furniture made from fallen trees. "With increasing environmental awareness in today's society and the availability of eco-friendly products, it truly is easy being green!"

The Show House features 22 locally and nationally-recognized interior and landscape designers transforming 22 spaces to reflect their own styles and talents. Delray Beach, Fla.- Filmmakers like great weather, too! The second annual Delray Beach Film Festival (DBFF) is set once again to chase away the winter blues, bringing over 15,000 film lovers of all kinds together again in a unique celebration of the cinematic arts.

From March 13-18, Delray Beach will play host to a six-day festival honoring the art of independent films, filled with cutting-edge screenings, chic parties, sophisticated patrons and a plethora of culturally diverse food.

At the DBFF, actors, producers, writers, directors, agents, managers, studio executives, and film lovers come together to honor independent filmmaking, right here in sunny South Florida. Over 250 films from around the world, from shorts created by novice filmmakers to full-length features produced by seasoned pros like Roger and Julie Corman to Xtreme sports films, will ensure a truly unique festival.

For the devout film buff, $235 ($75 for students and seniors) gets them a VIP Full Festival Pass, providing access to all festival screenings, cocktail parties, panels, award events, and special entry to the VIP opening night party. For those wishing to pick and choose the films that interest them most, a $10 ticket ($6.50 for students and seniors) can be purchased for individual showings. Single-day passes cost $50 ($35 for students and seniors), providing entry to a day's worth of screenings and events.

With the mission of staying true to the real "grassroots" of independent filmmaking, the DBFF prides itself on providing a venue for the student and independent filmmaker to screen films that might not otherwise attract an audience, and to network with other filmmakers and industry people.

The DBFF was founded in 2005 to encourage, support and promote the cinematic arts by orchestrating an annual winter film festival in Delray Beach, Florida. The DBFF is more than a typical film festival, with business and growth plans focused on making it a destination event. Filmmakers and guests will experience a taste of the local nightlife along trendy Atlantic Avenue, while also enjoying the various events and activities interwoven throughout each day like professional surfing lessons, golf tournaments, Everglades excursions and even a day devoted entirely to "Xtreme" sports. The DBFF is a non-profit organization 501 (c3), dedicated to providing the local community and international visitors with a diverse presentation of films from around the world. Time is Right for South Florida Designers' Show house
Bernadette Upton: "Green" Design

Ft Lauderdale, FL - There's a growing interest in protecting the environment, with "green" becoming a popular term these days. And this is great news for interior designer, lecturer, and consultant Bernadette Upton, who has been a "green" designer since the early 1980s.

"Back then I called myself an 'environmental designer,' before 'green' became the popular term for environmental responsibility," said Upton, one of twenty-two professional interior designers and landscapers whose work will be showcased at the Broward Red Cross Designers' Show House in March.

A long time activist and educator, Upton was recently featured on Bob Vila's TV show, wherein she explained eco-friendly spaces. Upton also teaches parents how to provide children with a healthy and safe environment, free of toxins and harmful materials. She is offering designers a Continuing Education Unit for stopping by to see her at the Show House.

Although Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth" has increased environmental awareness to an all-time high, Upton has long been using only environmentally-friendly materials, such as furniture made from fallen trees. "With increasing environmental awareness in today's society and the availability of eco-friendly products, it truly is easy being green!"

The Show House features 22 locally and nationally-recognized interior and landscape designers transforming 22 spaces to reflect their own styles and talents. The house, a Key West style mansion situated on historic Idlewyld Drive in Fort Lauderdale, will be open to the public from March 1 through March 18, 2007. Tickets are $25; group discounts available. Delray Beach, Fla.- Filmmakers like great weather, too! The second annual Delray Beach Film Festival (DBFF) is set once again to chase away the winter blues, bringing over 15,000 film lovers of all kinds together again in a unique celebration of the cinematic arts.

From March 13-18, Delray Beach will play host to a six-day festival honoring the art of independent films, filled with cutting-edge screenings, chic parties, sophisticated patrons and a plethora of culturally diverse food.

At the DBFF, actors, producers, writers, directors, agents, managers, studio executives, and film lovers come together to honor independent filmmaking, right here in sunny South Florida. Over 250 films from around the world, from shorts created by novice filmmakers to full-length features produced by seasoned pros like Roger and Julie Corman to Xtreme sports films, will ensure a truly unique festival.

For the devout film buff, $235 ($75 for students and seniors) gets them a VIP Full Festival Pass, providing access to all festival screenings, cocktail parties, panels, award events, and special entry to the VIP opening night party. For those wishing to pick and choose the films that interest them most, a $10 ticket ($6.50 for students and seniors) can be purchased for individual showings. Single-day passes cost $50 ($35 for students and seniors), providing entry to a day's worth of screenings and events.

With the mission of staying true to the real "grassroots" of independent filmmaking, the DBFF prides itself on providing a venue for the student and independent filmmaker to screen films that might not otherwise attract an audience, and to network with other filmmakers and industry people.

The DBFF was founded in 2005 to encourage, support and promote the cinematic arts by orchestrating an annual winter film festival in Delray Beach, Florida. The DBFF is more than a typical film festival, with business and growth plans focused on making it a destination event. Filmmakers and guests will experience a taste of the local nightlife along trendy Atlantic Avenue, while also enjoying the various events and activities interwoven throughout each day like professional surfing lessons, golf tournaments, Everglades excursions and even a day devoted entirely to "Xtreme" sports. The DBFF is a non-profit organization 501 (c3), dedicated to providing the local community and international visitors with a diverse presentation of films from around the world. Proceeds will be donated to help support local public schools, the Humane Society, and other community charitable organizations.
