Habitat for Humanity of South Palm Beach County began serving Boca Raton, Boynton Beach, and Delray Beach in 1991 and has completed 78 homes to date, including seven homes during the 2008-2009 fiscal year. Our mission is simple but powerful: we work in partnership with people from all walks of life to develop communities with people in need by building and renovating simple, decent and affordable houses. Habitat strives to eliminate the problem of substandard housing one family at a time. Individuals are invited to apply for a home and are selected based upon their need for housing, their ability to repay their mortgage, and their ability to work in partnership with Habitat. An applicant�s dream of home ownership becomes a reality because the house is sold to them through a no-interest mortgage; vital financial support is provided by the community; and the homeowners and volunteers build the homes themselves. We�re building almost every Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday starting again in September! Come join us!
